All Hail Stellaris

My Stellaris Review

Stellaris is a grand strategy video game that's played In a vast universe of Possibilities. To wrap your head around it just think of anything that's ever happened in a science fiction movie, TV show, or book. Stellaris is game full or lore and rich story's you can encounter while exploring the universe, claiming new galaxies, colonizing habitable planets, and progressing your space fairing civilization.

Customize your Species and Empire

You play as a space fairing civilization of your design. If you wanna play as a rogue AI, that's driven only by self preservation, that assimilates all biologic species. Or I xenophile pacifist star empire, or a near mindless social arthropod species classified as a devouring swarm driven only by its huger to consume more biomass to expand the horde. You can.

Before entering the vast universe You'll customize your species. Give them a name and decide weather they'll be humanoid, Mammalian, Reptilian, anthropoid, avian, molluscoid, fungoid, a machine AI, an sapient pile or rocks, or a literal intelligent parasite that uses other species as vassals.

Once you've decided on one of the possible species options you'll need to give them traits. There are many different species traits to choose from. Some positive others have trade offs. Will your species be natural deviants always challenging the status quo or conformist.

You'll need to decide on a type of government for your space fairing civilization. Government type are very customizable. You can decide on forms of Democracy, Oligarchy, Dictatorship, or Monarchy. Each with different civics and even more choices between governing ethics.

Conclusion

In summary, Stellaris is one of my personal favorites. Once you've customized your peoples you can set out exploring the universe and building your empire. Build Glorious fleets to rage intergalactic wars. Or build federation and ensure peace. Its up to you.

  1. Is there a way to "win" this game, or is it less about winning and more about civilization building?
